Mood of the Day: A Retro #tbt

Linda Evangelista in Chanel

I think the fashion and model industry got to it’s peak during the era of THE supermodels (Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell.. and so on) in the late 80’s and 90’s. I wish I could’ve lived my early twenties then. I just feel that people were so open to anything (both in fashion and in life) that designers could go crazy and basically do anything they wanted and it could easily become a fashion trend.

Although now days we might think some outfits or hairdos look ridiculous, there was a certain flair, coolness and chicness to that style that cannot be copied and which you probably needed to experience it then to understand it. Still, I’m pretty sure that there’s a lot of things people that lived during those years probably regret wearing.

I mean high-waisted sweatpants, white sneakers and Chanel chains? Yes please Linda!

Mood of the Day: Tibet Adorned

I had never seen Tibetan jewelry before I wrote this post, but I find their jewelry to be so beautiful, rich with history and colors. In Tibet jewelry is and/or was used as: an amulet, to show your status in society, healing properties (like balance) and spirituality. It is used by both men and women. They use a lot of metal like gold, silver and copper; they also use a lot of stones like turquoise, coral, amethyst and amber. What is so special to me about their jewelry is that every detail has a specific symbolism, for example using turquoise symbolizes infinity therefore it represents the sea or sky.

I want every single piece of jewelry that I see in these pictures… simply breathtaking. Visit my blog board on my Pinterest to check out more images on Tibetan jewelry, they are truly fascinating.
